Re: Wort In Show - Victoria
It looks like it's going ahead to me. I saw the organiser make some recent posts about it on their group, also stating that problem with registration was fixed.

If not Victoria, could send it to Newfoundland: http://www.beerthief.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=685" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;GuingesRock wrote:Good Luck Josh. Re: Wort In Show - Victoria
Yes....I just entered another beer to Wort in show and it came up as # 83. It's conceivable they might end up with an actual competition of sorts. If it was going to be 20 entries, I wasn't going to bother, but I might send in after all since there's only shipping to pay and entries are free now. Deadline is next Saturday. Can anyone else send in something? We could be one of their biggest supporters.

They need it by Saturday, and judging on Sunday. I'm to Fedex in Burnside tomorrow morning, hopefully it won't cost too much. I'll post what it costs from there if anyone else wants to send from here.

What were you thinking of sending? If you want to get more mileage out of any wheat beer you may have left, now is better than later. They don't always keep well.

Unlikely. FedEx might be best option.

Re: Wort In Show - Victoria
Fedex from burnside just quoted me $42 for three day air for a box with one entry, and ground would take too long. I'm out, I'm not spending that.

Take $7 off that for not having to pay entry fees. = $35amartin wrote:Fedex from burnside just quoted me $42 for three day air for a box with one entry, and ground would take too long. I'm out, I'm not spending that.
Might be cheaper per entry if you sent more entries in the box also.

Yes its definitely way cheaper / box for multiple entries. I shipped my entries from St John's yesterday via Canada Post Xpresspost for 50$, considering i didn't have to pay entry fee's it was actually pretty cheap.

Re: Wort In Show - Victoria
It's still $42, it's just not $49. For the competitions that I sent to in Montreal and Ottawa and Toronto, I was paying between $5 and $10 per entry to send it by ground, plus $6 or $7 for entry fees, coming to a maximum of $15 total per entry. If I had the foresight to send it last week it probably would have been closer to that, so it's my fault, but I'm still not paying that much to enter now. There will be more in the new year.

Re: Wort In Show - Victoria
True, i was just pointing that out incase you had the chance to ship it together with someone else, then it certainly would not have been 42/ entry!
