I hope you win with your beer Josh.

If they didn't get many entries they'll probably consolidate classes quite a bit I'm thinking. I wonder how many entries they had, and if they are still judging tomorrow etc.

Do you have any updates Rob?

Thanks Keith, I emailed Duncan this morning to see if they had many entries and how it was going. No response. I wonder if they are judging today.

I got an email back from Duncan in the night at 2.28 am. When he says "you guys" he's referring to Brewnosers.

No scores up. I have a feeling they decided to wait until judging is finished. There are often delays with these competitions due to judging not getting finished. I often wonder if the judges get too drunk to finish

I'm glad we supported this. They seem like nice guys. It's run by a club called BrewVIC. http://brewvic.ca/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://brewvic.org/forum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and sponsored by the Happy Homebrewer shop.
Hi Mark. I received a good selection from you guys. We got most of the beer judged. And scores should be going up soon for what we have. There is one last flight and a BOS to do later this week.

Wort In Show - Victoria

Please cut them some slack. They did tell GRock that the last flight and BOS were getting done this week. As someone who has organized a couple of competitions, there's no sense in getting worked up about it. It doesn't do the volunteers who run the thing any good.
Thanks

I know. I'm a fan of instant gratification.
I'm impressed this went ahead. It looks like he was doing it all on his own. AND it's BJCP/AHA approved.

Not to diminish it, but it doesn't take much to be BJCP sanctioned. Just promise that the tasting will be blind, there are published styles (don't even have to be the BJCP ones), judging is fair to all entrants, and you'll provide feedback to entrants. Not much, but important. Really, any decent beer competition could/should be sanctioned.

Full rules:
The BJCP has few rules that apply to a competition. Organizers have wide latitude to create a unique competition experience. However, the following rules do apply to all competitions:

Blind tasting must be used. Judges must not be given the identity of the brewer or entrant.
Entries must be judged to published styles. The BJCP Style Guidelines are the preferred standard, but any other published guidelines can be used as long as judges and entrants are both using the same guidelines.
Feedback must be given to the brewer or entrant. The BJCP judging forms are recommended, but not mandatory. Scoresheets must be returned promptly to the entrants.
Judging must be fair to all entrants. Common rules must be used, and they must be applied and enforced uniformly. This is an intentionally loose definition that allows competitions to have their own unique character without being overly proscriptive. Competitions must be run in a spirit of fairness. The Sanctioned Competition Handbook and Judge Procedures Manual should be used as a guide.
Competition reports must be filed promptly with the BJCP, preferably using the BJCP organizer reporting system. Competitions not filing organizer reports may be denied registration for subsequent competitions.
A judging panel must have a minimum of two judges and a maximum of four judges, including any Novice judges or judges in training.
The BJCP Privacy Policy must be followed, particularly for judge data furnished by the BJCP to competition organizers. Data furnished by the BJCP may only be used in accordance with the BJCP Privacy Policy. It may only be used for purposes of running the registered competition, and it may not be used for non-BJCP purposes or be shared with third parties.

I so hope you will get your first medal here Josh. If it isn't this time it will be the next time. You have the passion and determination. I'm gunning for you. That first medal is a bugger to get, then you are on a run. I've been through it.

I don't think they've put in all the results, they don't add up to 82. I've been watching it. He had my wheat as a gold, now it's been moved down to a bronze.

I wonder who they had judging Josh. The wheat wasn't the best, but the three always does very well, and didn't here. "Working Man" got a gold recently at all About Ales 2014, and it gets 25 points here only.

Looks like they have another flight of 10 and BOS to do still.

Marks got a gold for his IPA, that one sounds right, congrats!
