Yea I just adjusted the names on some of mine. I believe you can even change the style.

Yes many times. You can edit as well after you have paid for entries. You can totally change the beer and style with that edit button.

I have a question. If you enter beers but don't pay for your entries, do your entries get bumped off once the 325 limit is reached? I think I read with other competitions that you have to pay to guarantee your place in the comp.

I just signed up. I may squeeze in another depending on how April goes.

I took 3 spots. Two I already have in the can and one TBD.

Regarding recipes, from the other thread.

Some styles require the brewer to disclose some ingredients and/or "intent". Like what fruit is in your fruit beer, or why is your Belgian Specialty Ale in that category, or what underlying style is your Experimental, etc. Beyond that, don't worry too much.

As for 2 vs 3 bottles, I think RT has the right idea. If we get 30 IPAs, we would like to be able to open a second bottle for the medal round. And a third bottle in the BOS round. But if you only send two, you won't be disqualified or anything! It just means we won't open it for the IPA medal round (ie, we'll always save one for the BOS), and will go with whatever we've got from the initial bottle.

These comps are always 2 bottles. 1 for category round, 1 for BOS round. Even the IPA and stout categories that sometimes get 30-40+ entries. The only time I've seen anything different is the Garrison (send 6 pack) and similar single category competitions.

Edit: I was just a little confused by your remark. You're saying if you had 3 you'd open the extra in the category round, and if you had two you'd still save one for BOS.

Glad to hear we aren't requiring 3 bottles, anyone shipping their entries in looking to enter more than 4 or 5 beer would be incurring a significant increase in cost. I sent in 6 entries to the yeast wranglers and it was at the maximum weight for a box with with Canada Post's expedited parcel.

Is there some accountability for the money being collected?

Two bottles for that one too Derek:

Then they changed their conditions after I considered entering, because I was going to, but had no intention of sending so many.

Under the packaging & shipping information it makes reference to ATF and USPS regulations. Might want to make that more relevant to Canadian carriers.

That's standard on those forms. They are put out by the AHA. It might be best to leave the standard. If you start looking into Canadian shipping rules and writing them down, you'll likely be stirring up a hell hole of regulations and liabilities, and any way ..we could get some American Entries.

I was thinking the same but when we looked into changing it I found it's not configurable but hard coded. I can still change it if someone comes up with something.

I'm worried if you change it, you'll open us up to liability, particularly if we should inadvertently misinform people. Shipping isn't our responsibility. For example it is in FedEx rules that alcohol cannot be shipped. Canada post is probably the same. I think it is best to stay clear and leave it as is.

Well if we said anything we'd have to say you can't. I think that's clear from what's there already though.

Yes, would definitely save one for BOS round.

Having said all of that, we don't need to reinvent the wheel here: let's leave it at 2 bottles.

We haven't gotten that far, but I'd be happy to spearhead that, unless Andrew would like to.

Besides keeping track of all submitted monies and receipts for money going out, anything else I should be aware of?

It's always been a pet peeve of mine with competitions that there is scant accounting of what gets done with the submission fees. It would be nice to see a breakdown that entrants can see.

Are there any issue with us accepting money for this tax-wise? Are we registered as a non-profit? I don't really know how any of that stuff works, but we want to make sure we don't get in trouble.
