My beer ended up being there for 3 weeks before judging and i can predict comments of oxidation arriving shortly.

great job...took 2nd and 3rd in the English pale ale

Thanks! That ESB is a new recipe that has done well for me and I'm happy with it. My ordinary bitter has been chugging along and doesn't seem to change drastically as I substitute ingredients to try and improve its scores. It tends to get about the same score even though I tweak the specialty malts.

I think it's wrapped up except for BOS. Congrats Mark and Dave Martin.

Thanks Dave, This is a bit of a hare and tortoise BOTY race for me. I was ahead of #3 Chris Nowlan by quite a bit, so I sent in some beers to this that I wanted to try out for medals, rather than ones I knew had a higher chance of placing. I got a silver for my fruit beer and that was it. I don't see my Big Spruce Alt anywhere, or even the section where it was entered. Chris Nowlan got lots of medals here (I think he might be an exceptional brewer) and he is now back on my tail. It's all down to the final competition now. Should be exciting.

Thanks! Congrats on the milk stout, that is one brew i have never tried.

Actually, that is probably one brew i have barely even tried, i bet out of my 1000 check ins i have only had one or two milk stouts!

Good Luck with the 5 paddles comp Mark, All in all you had a great run!.... I sent in 5 beers to this comp, 3 of which i have scored medals with in previous comps (those 3 did not place  ). The silver for the Milk stout was a surprise . You just never know how you will do from comp to comp.

Thanks! This recipe is my attempt at left hand brewing's Milk Stout. I like it but its not something you want to drink a lot of, its nice to have on occasion. (actually the stuff i sent in was bottled a year ago)

Thanks, sounds like we might both have been at this game a bit too long maybe. ;)
