Another limited entry competition. That's unusual. Only allowed to send 5 entries to this one. Things are winding down.

I really enjoyed it! Non-traditional, with the extra hop character, but it was great. Maybe more Cat 23? Be sure to mark that it is a heavily hopped version of a BW, so the judges can tell it was on purpose.

Chalmers, in my experience, is good with picking styles. I've taken his advice on whether something was an IPA or an APA and it paid off. In some of these competitions you can enter a beer in several categories too if you are not sure. Check the rules. I've done that before once.

what would you suggest under 2015 styles? and where would a bo-pils fit now?

Entry Window
Entries will be accepted at our shipping and drop-off locations beginning Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 12:00 AM, EDT through Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 5:00 PM, EST.

This says the Awards Ceremony will be Nov 28th, so you've got a couple weeks to stew still!

I know these competitions are a lot of work to put on, and i certainly appreciate the work that goes into them but changing the deadline the last week, pushing judging back and delaying the results really puts a damper on this one for me. My beer ended up being there for 3 weeks before judging and i can predict comments of oxidation arriving shortly.

Hahahaha so true! Avoid contact with air while transferring, store beer in a cold place, watch for hot side aeration

Nothing is predictable. That's half the fun of it. They have the beers in cold storage, he said on Twitter, so you could be good to go here. You never know whether these competitions keep the beer cold or not. There was one, I swear they kept my beer in the trunk of a car on a hot day or put it in the oven for a bit. If this one does have the beer cold, it might have been an advantage to ship ahead of time and let it settle. Good luck.
