2015 MoB & Beau's Oktoberfest Homebrewing Competition

Post by GuingesRock » Sun Oct 04, 2015 6:23 pm

My Working Man (new batch) just got Best Of Show here. Does that mean Beau's will be brewing a batch of my beer?

Congrats! :cheers3: Ask Tim he will know
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

From http://comp.barleyment.ca/competition/entry#bos" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; :
Best of Show

The grand prize winner of the BJCP competition will have the honour of brewing a commercial batch of their own recipe at Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company. The winner of the People’s Choice competition will also be invited to brew their recipe on the “pilot batch” system at Beau’s, and will have their beer sold in the retail location (as well as receive a few bottles of their crafted beer).
I would give them a bit of time before knocking down their door to brew, but yes, it looks like you and your recipe are going to Vankleek Hill! Tim had to provide his own transport and accommodations, if I remember correctly.

Congratulations!

Congrats Mark, quite the accomplishment! We'll need to figure out some way to get a case (or two) of whatever you make at Beau's!

Thanks Tim, Mike, Keith and Phil.

It would be nice to get a case or two from them to hand around Mike.

I'm excited to go Tim.

Nice haul. Although four scarves seems a little excessive :)
