Competition Packing– WARNING!!! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME
I started the year with 8 styles I designed and brewed to send. I’ve perfected my shipping/packing technique. These pictures may be of some help to anyone embarking on this.
For 5 Paddles http://www.brewnosers.org/forums/viewto ... 08#p132974" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The last BOTY competition of the year, I have 26 to send.
Best part of a day’s work!
Going out tomorrow by overnight courier. I REALLY hope they get there by the deadline the following day (Friday).
It will be expensive to ship. This competition is unusual in that they require three bottles instead of two. I look on it as brewing education fees. When you are up against the best in the country you learn what you can from the literature and from this forum (thanks for learning me Brewnosers over the past 3 years) and you brew your best. It’s also a creative drive.
I’m done with competing for BOTY placing!!! I’m far enough ahead of #3 that my #2 position is guaranteed without these entries. I will still send to competitions, but on a much smaller scale.
It’s a huge relief to get this last competition packed.

I've gotta say I when you get into something, you REALLY get into something. Well done Mark.
Given the points scored this year, 2nd in BOTY is an exceptional accomplishment, all while bringing the ranking of the Brewnoser Club higher and higher.

Good thing there aren't any psychiatrists on here. They'd have had me institutionalized by now.

Re: Competition Packing– WARNING!!! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME
Shipment just picked up. I helped him carry the boxes down to the van as I usually do. Chatting on the way and he asked me "what's in these boxes" ...Yikes! ..."Yeast samples going to a brewery, It's my hobby." I knew he'd been burning to ask all year. All these boxes going off from the doctor's office to breweries.

Am I a match for you Keith? We might be evens. Who else should join the club?
Everyone else who comes into the office knows about my exploits, of course. The poor courier man was the only one kept in the dark.
I'm just checking the tracking again, of course.

Thanks Chris, and thanks for all the work you do on the competition side of things - organizing and judging etc. It's a great opportunity for brewers to have access to these excellent competitions.
Keep up the good work.
