I enjoyed participating the last 2 years, but was not impressed by the false promise of brewing the top 4 beers last year - 1, 3, and 4 were brewed... and I might add, zero communication from Henry as to why 2nd place was completely ignored.

Anyway, good luck everyone!

I’m pretty excited to take a swing at a home brew challenge as well, regardless of the outcome I’m sure I’ll learn a lot!

3rd place wasn’t brewed. That was Steve Cranes Steinbier right?

Does anyone know what's in the box yet? Work has been insane I won't make it over until tomorrow, just curious.

I haven't seen the contents personally yet as someone else picked it up (getting it on the weekend), but have heard there's some two-row, vienna, choc, aromatic, crystal light and medium, Magnum, Amarillo, Saaz, some other hop I can't remember, ginger-infused green tea, and Safale BE-134 (hopefully another yeast too, but I'm not sure?). I am hoping there's an ingredient sheet like there appears to have been in previous years...

Yup. US-05
And there is an ingredient sheet with weights of each component.

We brewed up our entry last Saturday...everyone brew up yet? Quick turn around for this comp

I brewed last weekend. This weekend I think is really the latest I’d want to brew, but I hate rushing, I like giving it three weeks in the fermenter if I can, that leaves one and a half to two in the keg. But then it left only a few days to think of something.

Brewed mine yesterday. I brew 10 gallons at a time, haven’t brewed 5 on my equipment for quite a while so I didn’t want to gamble on hitting my numbers making two smaller batches. So just one shot. Hopefully make it count. On the plus side, the tea is only going into half the batch. So if it’s a shitshow, I’m only dumping half lol.

I got brewed up last weekend too; 2 5gal batches of different styles. Saison and an IPA. Racked 'em both to secondary yesterday. Both taste pretty good. IPA's getting a little dry hop action and I'm debating the tea right now....

Nice, I doubled down on the saison with two different 5 gallon batches. Hopefully one of the two is a stand out.

I just brewed mine yesterday, my brew partner bailed out at the last minute and left me scrambling to come up with a recipe and brew it all in a day, fingers crossed it’s going to turn out.
