I picked up 2 packages. Both had an extra bag of the spice, both were short 3.5kg of 2-row. Who owns em and how do you wanna get em? I can return to hop yard when I get my missing 2-row or make other arrangements.

Cheers!

I haven’t been able to get in yet, Will tomorrow. Did either end up with an ingredient list to show what the unknown spice is lol

It’s Togarashi. Henry sent an email to everyone of what should be on the bag; was sent just a little while ago.

Picked mine up today, am short 50 grams of hops on all but bravo. Luckily likely will not need the extra 50 of each. Does anyone else re crush their grain? I noticed it came crushed but I know I like mine a bit finer for my own system

I always crush mine a second time, but I brew in a bag so I want it fine.

The year I participated, I had to re-crush as well.

My brown malt and my maris otter were both mostly whole. the kernels looked a little on the smaller side so they were probably slipping through their mill’s usual setting. If anyone needs a mill let me know.

My beer is brewed and in the fermentation chamber. I have to say I’m a fan of the Thomas and Fawcett brown malt. And I no longer think crystal and caramel malt are the same thing. The smell today was unreal. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Same. I used all the maris otter and am just about to boil. Time constraints kept me from getting to a mill, but the maris otter really needed another go thru. I guess I’ll know when I get my OG. Really hoping I don’t need to rebrew, other wise is all 2-row base....

What is supposed to be on the beer labels? Just beer name, brewer and style I assume? I think the entry form said the labels would be with the materials, but we didnt have anyrhing...

So ..... we’re supposed to send a copy of the album we chose along with our 6 beer.

Correct?

Ha, I forgot that was this week. It says in the email though that we only have to submit the album if we're a finalist.

Yeah, we just provided the name of the album and the rationale.

Yeah I forgot this was this week as well. Good thing I have the keg carbed up. Just wish I had a beer gun, likely will invest in a cheap one asap. The DIY version works ok, but is clunky. Also my beer tastes good, but damn that spice is weird.

I hear you on the seven spice. I use that stuff in my cooking a lot but I can’t picture how it would work in a beer.
