London and Bruges

Post by vgoreham » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:31 am

Figure they have any good beer in either of these cities? :headbang: :drunk:

Any particular suggestions on where I should go, or what I should drink?

My wife and I are highly considering going to Belgium in the fall. If we end up going, Brugs Beertje will be a must visit for me. Over 300 beers on tap.....heaven!!! :spilly:

In London you can consult the CAMRA Good Beer guide. My fave pub is The White Horse on Parsons Green. Lovely park setting. Great cask selection. Awesome menu. Belgian beer selection is large. Close to Tube Station (Parsons Green)

The only problem is that if you go on a hot day (really, London does have them!) you have to get there real early to get an outdoor table.
Currently on tap: Nothing!
In keg: Still nothing.
In Primary: Doggone American Rye Pale Ale

Hmmm, I don't think that's true. When I was there a few years ago, they had about 5 beers on tap. The rest were all in bottles. In fact, all the beers bars I was at had very few taps; I think that's pretty common for Belgium.

My bad. I thought I had read that they were all on tap.

Still, that's an impressive number of bottles for a fairly small place. I ordered a few and they had them all. What was even more impressive (by Canadian standards) was that they had the proper glass for each.

Yep, very impressive indeed. My wife and I are still uncertain where in Europe that we are headed to this fall, but Belgium is near the top of the list. If we go there, I'll most certainly be visiting this place!!
