I'm planning on brewing 10 gallons of my house IPA. The grain build is similar to my pine apple IPA, hop schedule is different and ofcourse this will be brewed without the pine apple.

I must have been way off on my mill setting. Efficiency was poop. Only hit 1.045. I guess it really is a session IPA

Not sure what Mill you have, but mine is the Barley Crusher, set at 0.038. You can borrow my feeler Hughes if you want.Keith wrote:I must have been way off on my mill setting. Efficiency was poop. Only hit 1.045. I guess it really is a session IPA

I have the one Dave sells, I'll definitely take you up on the offer of borrowing the feeler hughes. I was disappointed with only getting 60% efficiency.LeafMan66_67 wrote:Not sure what Mill you have, but mine is the Barley Crusher, set at 0.038. Question:

What style would this fall into now with the new stats? Would this be considered a Pale ale or weak IPA?

House Session IPA
Only slightly high on the IBUs compared to the Pale Ale style, so I'd say that.

Re: House Session IPA
Yea it's more a cross between Pale Ale and IPA. I suppose it's a "specialty" IPA of sorts.chalmers wrote:Only slightly high on the IBUs compared to the Pale Ale style, do I'd say that.

Re: House Session IPA
Actually when I plugged this into beer smith I should of had 1.048 not 1.057. So I'm pretty happy with 1.046. Once I get my final gravity reading, It looks like I'll have a tasty APA.Keith wrote:What style would this fall into now with the new stats? Would this be considered a Pale ale or weak IPA?

Well this dried out. Looks like a 4.9% beer in the end. Mind you it may clean up a bit more, but I doubt it.
