Waimea hop!? Whats the best pairing?

Hello all!


Just recently got some Waimea hops and after having some Watchtower Conspiracy DIPA from Big Spruce (drinking at the moment I might add….) I got encouraged to make my own DIPA with some Waimea hops.. Although I have heard that it can be a bit overbearing by itself, i was wondering if anyone has brewed with it before and might have any suggestions as to good pairing hops? It is quite intense and the pack I got is 16.8% so I'm thinking maybe something light and floral? Cascade? Ahtanum? maybe some Amarillo? Open to suggestions and in the meantime I am gonna finish this amazing beer!

IIRC there was a chop & brew episode exclusively on new hop varieties and Waimea might have been in there. Check it out.
