This beer was brewed for the Brewnoser competition but I never got a chance to enter, so it's been sitting in a carboy since then. I'm sure letting a low OG beer go that long ain't great but hopefully it turns out ok. Cheers

Advent 2016 - 30th Trisourhots Lichtenhainer
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I'm really digging the smoke character in this beer. The chipolte's add a nice kick too. Did you smoke the malt?

Not usually a big fan of smoke beers but I love the way it plays in with the peppers. Could stand a bit more acidity I think, but it's probably right in the ballpark style guideline wise. TBH I was kind of expecting this to be a weird mess, but I'm really enjoying it.

I also had some difficulty with this one. The sourness seemed out of place for me. I'm tempted to brew this myself with just the smoke and peppers.

I thought this was a fun beer, and I was looking forward to trying it since I'd read about the style before. I liked how you took a beer that was already smoked and sour, and decided that hell, this needs some peppers in it too. It's not the kind of beer I'd want to drink often, but it was well made and I enjoyed it.
