Oatmeal Stouts

Post by bruno643 » Sat May 06, 2017 9:08 am

About to bottle a 5 gallon batch of Oatmeal Stout. First time brewing this recipe but wondering for those who have done something similar in the past, how did you carbonate yours? How much sugar do I need to add. Recipe calls for half a cup of corn sugar, but that seems very little. Thoughts? Thanks!!!! :cheers3:

That's probably about right but to be exact you'd be best to find a calculator online and put in your exact volume, temperature, and desired carbonation level. Then it'll give you the exact amount to use.

I usually use beersmith but I've used this calculator with great success in the past.

I'd recommend using a scale as it will be much easier to get a accurate amount.
