I was playing around with the Pin Cherry yeast. I like the way the beer turned out but I don't know much about the Abbey style beers so it may be a terrible example of the style...I suck a selling lol. Let me know what you think.
Cheers!

This is the pin cherry yeast? Wow!
I'm really enjoying this beer and I was craving a little Belgian so it's really hitting the spot. Very Belgian and I think you did a great job.

I wasn't sure how this one was going to go. I've had a couple of pin cherry yeast beers and I haven't been a fan of any of them.
I got a pretty significant whiff of apple at first. Then there were all sorts of flavours - spiciness, malt, cotton candy...
I wouldn't say I'm a fan of that yeast yet, but this beer showed some promise in that regard.
Thanks for sharing.

I like the idea of having a lower gravity, session-type Triple, and this one is really well done. It sort of fits into the category of Belgian Pale Ale, although maybe a bit lighter in colour. It has some restrained, signature Belgian phenolics. I get spiciness, as well as some candy rockets and a little bit of bubblegum. There are some lemony notes too. I'd probably try to dry it out a bit more and/or possibly experiment with increasing carbonation. Nice bready character on the nose, which I assumed was Pils until I saw the recipe, so there you go.

I am surprised this is made with the pin cherry yeast as well. It's got a nice belgium spicy and fruity character. I get a bit of bubblegum character in the nose, but not as much in the flavour. I ate a bunch of weird stuff for supper so I wouldn't look too far into my flavour description. I get a bit of bitterness maybe a bit too much, some grape character and a mix of fruity esters. The malt character is in the background I find it hard to pick out but it plays an important role. Anyway, thanks delicious beer!

Tasty brew! I like the pin cherry yeast. Is this a yeast that's available to buy I just figured out what it is. I love the idea of a Nova Scotia yeast with these flavors

So... A Single?
Jokes aside this is a solid beer. Good showcase of the yeast, some fruit and bubblegum up front and spicy phenolics to balance it out. Very nice

Best beer I've tried yet with that yeast.
It's definitely a Belgian single or table beer and a good one. It was low on the carb for that style and honestly the carb level makes a beer like this.
I'm surprised how much this reminds me of a lighter bodied Leffe.
You did a great job aside from the carb levels.
Thanks man!

According to Phyl:
One of the best beers I've had in a while. Well balanced, not too heavy, absolutely delicious. If I may have one criticism it needs a tiny bit more carbonation. I do recognize all the flavours mentioned above.

Did this beer really finish at 1.020? It didn't taste like it.

Was a little scared for this one at first, really digging it though. Nice Belgian flavours.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
I totally agreed that it was under carbonated for the style. Bottle conditioning would have been the right way to do this one.

Very tasty Eric. I enjoyed the Belgian flavors from the PC1 yeast on the modest grain bill. I think the candi helped to add dryness in spite of high FG which made it feel well balanced. Thanks!
