Looking for a hoppy red recipe

Post by Keggermeister » Mon Mar 23, 2020 4:01 pm

Hey guys, have never used Viking Red Ale Malt before, looking to smash out a hoppy red ale similar to Temptation. Anyone have a recipe or ideas for me?
I don't want to over do it with the malty profile.

You could just sub out all the grains for 100% red malt for a smash? or just sub the 2 row for red? I've never used it before.

Cascade Red Ale

Type: All Grain
Batch Size: 38.00 l
OG 1.050

18lb 2 row (92.3%)
8.0 oz Crystal 30 (2.6%)
8.0 oz Crystal 120 (2.6%)
8.0 oz Roasted Barley (2.6%)

Mash @152f

1.25 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 15.0 min
1.25 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 10.0 min
1.50 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 5.0 min
2.0 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 0.0 min
