Updated this year to include juice and zest of 2 fresh oranges and fresh ginger...

5.50 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (5.9 EBC) Grain 1 76.9 %
0.50 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (118.2 EBC) Grain 2 7.0 %
0.32 kg Special Roast (98.5 EBC) Grain 3 4.5 %
0.30 kg Aromatic Malt (51.2 EBC) Grain 4 4.2 %
0.25 kg Cara-Pils/Dextrine (3.9 EBC) Grain 5 3.5 %
0.17 kg Caramunich Malt (110.3 EBC) Grain 6 2.4 %
0.10 kg Chocolate Malt (689.5 EBC) Grain 7 1.4 %

Mash in 27.00 l of water at 66.7 C 60 min
Mash Out Heat to 75.6 C over 10 min
Sparge with 12.47 l water at 75.6 C

14.00 g Columbus (Tomahawk) [18.60 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 8 26.6 IBUs
28.00 g Amarillo [8.70 %] - Boil 10.0 min Hop 9 9.0 IBUs
1 tbsp Grated Fresh Ginger Root (Boil 5.0 mins)
38 g Fresh Grated Orange Zest (Boil 5.0 mins)
250 ml Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice (Boil 5.0 min)
0.50 tsp Cinnamon Powder (Boil 5.0 mins)
0.13 tsp Allspice - Ground (Boil 5.0 mins)
0.13 tsp Nutmeg (Boil 5.0 mins)

Est Post Boil Vol: 24.00 l and Est Post Boil Gravity: 1.068
Final Gravity: 1.018
ABV: 6.6%

Very much enjoyed this. The spice and citrus were present, but the driving character was lovely malt, which is how I prefer a beer like this. Not a lot of carb here, but I don’t miss it either. Thanks for the share!

I drank this one a few days ago. I’ll be honest, this isn’t a style I enjoy. I made a bad overly spiced beer once a long time ago and now anytime I drink a beer and taste cinnamon it reminds me of it. It was a good example of the style though.
