I thought it best to use one heading for all the 2023 advent beers. At least for me, it is easier. I know some recipes have already posted, but I will try to re-post under this thread. Cheers!!!

4 December 2023 Belgian Dubbel

Mash at 65deg
Malt
5kg Maris Otter
1kg Pilsner
750g Munich
250g Carapils
250g Special B

Other
250g Candi Syrup D-90 (5 min)

Hops
35g Tettnang 3.0% 60 min
20g Tettnang 3.0% 20 min

Yeast
1pkg Mangrove Jack M47

Ferment: As warm as the yeast says (I forget)

What I would change next time: Ferment a bit cooler to soften the phenolic yeast character.

Cheers!

Not a lot of experience with dubbels but I enjoyed this a lot….the yeast and malt really played well together…it was sweeter then I’d expect but not in a bad way.. I’d be happy to drink a keg of it.

This was the first beer I drank from the exchange, the night I picked it up. I didn't make it to the liquor store in time before we made it to the cabin, and I needed something to wash down a feed of mussels. This one did the trick admirably. Went down very smooth. Thanks for sharing. Image
