Dec 21 Tobi's Toes Tripel

Post by Tim Gregory » Thu Dec 21, 2023 7:19 pm

Sorry almost forgot to post.

Belgian Tripel

6kg Pilsner
500g aromatic
450g light Candi sugar

Mashed we 66C

My efficiency sucked so I threw an indeterminate about of light extract in the boil.

90 minute boil

2oz hallertau 60 min
1oz hallertau 15 min

Fermented with 2 packs of mangrove jack Belgian Abbey yeast around 22C.

OG 1.072
FG 1.006
ABV 8.8%

I very much enjoyed this one earlier tonight. Nice and clean, with some Belgian yeast character and just a bit of boozy heat. Would not have guessed it had attenuated that much, but that's a Tripel for you!

little late to the party here... still getting caught up on the advent beers.

It was 4:30pm on Friday after a long week at work... I still have a couple hours of work to catch up on but I thought I'd crack a beer to have while I was finishing up some emails - this was the first one I grabbed out of the fridge - little 8.8% beer buzz is lending a different tone to my emails :)

really nice beer! I'm glad I finally got to it!
