Here's the final color of the juice. When I let it settle and dumped it in the keg, if fucking blew up on me, lol. Keg on foam. Taste test coming up.

I'm intrigued. If this turns out well for you it might replace my blood orange wheat beer this summer.

hmmmmm, not bad so far. Although some dumbass forgot to put in the grains of paradise, sigh. Not sure if I'll bother now or not. Seems like this beer might do well with an added peppery dimension though..............

Wyeast 3711 for the yeast could take care of that. Might make for an interesting combo with the coriander especially.mr x wrote:Seems like this beer might do well with an added peppery dimension though..............

Re: Triple Threat Wheat V1.1 (cucumber and coriander)
I'm thinking a glass lightly rimmed with salt and pepper might be interesting too. Not sure if the 3711 would do it or not, the fruitiness might overwhelm the cucumber. It's a slight taste going on. If I had been doing a dedicated batch, I would have used lots of SAAZ instead of cascade. As it is, this first run is pomegranate, lime and coconut, and C&C...beer that makes you go mmmmmmmm

Very well. Shelley isn't a big fan for some reason, says there's a bitterness on the front she doesn't like (peel?). I gave Nash a bottle, we'll see what he has to say, he's had cucumber beers before. Anybody else wants some, just shout.

Wonder if it's the coriander? I've had similar comments about thai curries from my wife when I go too heavy on the coriander.

I don't get it, but that's not to say it isn't there. I need some more testers. I didn't think I went too far on the coriander, about half of an average sized bunch, but I'll leave that up to critics, lol.

Re: Triple Threat Wheat V1.1 (cucumber and coriander)
Excellent. Had a few people around tonight and ran it by them. Very good reception (Shelley has come around as well), but they couldn't pick out the cucumber, which blew me away. I find it quite prominent. Anyway, looks promising. I'll bottle a bunch up for people.

Just like the first pic. Two hefty cucumbers, and about 1/4 bunch of coriander.

Did you add the pulp or just the juice?

Re: Triple Threat Wheat V1.1 (cucumber and coriander)
I didn't have Cuke beer before, it was melon beer.
As for this one, the cilantro ruins it IMO. Some people may not get the Cuke flavour because its too muddled. I'd do it again with peeled Cuke and pepper, maybe up the.bittering hops a touch.
My 2 cents.

Re: Triple Threat Wheat V1.1 (cucumber and coriander)
It's funny, some people get nothing at all if I don't tell them, and others don't get coriander. It's very hard to pin down. One common comment is that it would make a great lawnmower beer, so that's good enough for me. Although I still plan to add the G of P.

Re: Triple Threat Wheat V1.1 (cucumber and coriander)
I must say its a nice "lite" beer.
The cuke is the flavor thet I got. Not sure I would have called it that but the flavor was melonish.
I got no coriander at all.

I thought you would have tried making one by now. You're from Cucumberland (County), after all.NASH wrote:I didn't have Cuke beer before, it was melon beer.
