60 Shilling Scottish ale

Post by xarious » Thu May 31, 2012 1:19 pm

Hey Guys, just thought I'd share the recipe for the last beer I made. I was looking for a low alcohol content, with large malt character beer and I fell I achieved my goals pretty well.

Scottish Ale

4lbs maris otter
.5 lbs munich
.9 lbs honey
1 lbs crystal 40
.5 lbs crystal 120
.12lbs light chocolate malt

single infusion mash @ 158
90 min boil
.5oz goldings @ 60 min
OG 1.036
FG 1.016

This beer has a good mouth feel with the honey malt really showing through, with a little bit of roastyness from the chocolate malt. At around 3% ABV it has great malt character and easy drinkability.
