Anybody got a good recipe for a farmhouse ale/saison? I am looking for something at between 6-8%, I realize this is not "traditional." Actually, I maybe what I am looking for is an American style ale, but fermented warm with some Belgian style yeast?? Is this blasphemous?

I've brewed a few. I like the BCS malt base, with small changes + wYeast 3711. Bascially Pislner + some raw grains. No crystal malt. Maybe spices - orange, bog myrtle, coriander, etc. I have the Farmhouse Ales book if you want to borrow it:

Unsure if moxie decided to borrow the book or not, but I am also quite interested in borrowing it for a bit if possible.

Wow, did not even notice a reply in here. I thought I was getting crickets.

Anyway, I ended up picking up a copy of X's book on Amazon. I also grabbed this guy:

If anyone would like to take a look, let me know. There is some good info in both.

Here's one I made last year, everyone seemed to like it including myself. Pretty simple stuff:

11 lbs Pils
1.25 lbs Corn Sugar

Willamette - 1oz (60)
EKG - 1oz(60)
Willamette - 1oz(10)
EKG - 1oz(10)

Mash @ 148F
Wyeast 3724
O.G. 1.064
45IBU
F.G. 1.005

Only thing I'd change is to drop the IBU's down to ~35IBU, though it mellowed out just fine in a couple months in the bottle

lol, well, if anybody would like to borrow Farmhouse Ales, I know where you can find it. I also know Kai and Judy had my copy of Brew Like a Monk if there is interest (it was actually more of a trade for Radical Brewing...)
