I'm going to do my first brew in 15 years. Have most of the gear now to try all-grain, but thought it best if I try an extract kit first. I was thinking about the NG Kriek kit. Any suggestions to make sure it turns out?

Don't know much about that one. What's the general layout of the kit?

200g Canadaian 2 row
200g medium crystal malt
80g roasted barley

2.6 kg light liquid unhopped malt extract
500g high malt liquid glucose

Boilong hops ~4 g Northern Brewer

1 Tablespoon acid blend added to primary (to "sour" the cherries)

Nottingham dried ale yeast or American Liquid yeast

Lord jesus christ almighty. That's not a kriek, it's a fruit beer. But if that's what you are looking for, it should be fine.

X please explain. I'm a bit of a beer newby. I thought traditional Kriek was a fuit beer. I understand it is a lambic, but I wasn't planning on a wild ferment...I'm sure it would more than a little nasty given my level of expertise.

You pretty much have it figured out. A kriek should use some buggy stuff or wild yeasts. I just don't think NG should be selling fruit beers and calling them krieks.
