The Minute Man Brown Ale

Edit: Renamed this beast after thinking about it a little bit... The Minuteman provided first resistance to Brisish forces in the Revolutionary War. This beer is a battle between American and English ingredients and styles! I pitched US-05 in this bitch, and we've got Fuggles going head-to-head with their upstart US counterpart Willamette! :pow:

Have some leftover Fuggles and Willamette to use up ASAP, this is my recipe:

Batch Size: 5.001 gal
Boil Size: 6.200 gal
Efficiency: 70%

OG: 1.058
FG: 1.012
ABV: 6.1%
Bitterness: 28.8 IBUs (Tinseth)
Color: 22 SRM (Morey)

9lbs 2-Row Pale Malt
1lb Crystal Malt 60L
1lb Flaked Oats
8oz Biscuit Malt
8oz Chocolate Malt

1 oz Willamette 60Min
1 oz Fuggles 30Min

Nottingham Ale Yeast
Pitched Safale US-05!

Had a bit of a brain storm on the ingredients and name of this brew.

Looks good. I'm thinking of a brown ale using some of my brown malt.

Brown malt! Very interesting... How much do you have? Would you use it as a base malt??

I don't think I can use it as a base malt, but IIRC that may have been the original use for it back in the UK... :problem:

I have a fair bit if anybody wants to try some.

This one has been on the gas for a few days, looking quite dark, maybe a shade darker than a Newcastle. This thing showed some serious gumption during fermentation.

By the way, x, I may take you up on a bit of that brown malt for a future batch.

Sure, just give me lots of lead time, because all of my grain is in NG.
