Looks good!

Don't fear the IBUs. I'm finding the FWH really smoothes it out.

I will drain that glass again.

I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Thanks gentlemen. I had one tonight at my work Christmas party and I'm willing to take a beating if anyone doesn't like it. I'll say I worked my ass off on it and am very proud of it. It doesn't taste as bitter as one would think. Please baby jesus let some Brewnosers like it and G-Rock not to notice the crystal. Moohhaaaaaa. Cheers Boys. Holding my head high whatever is said. :headbang:

Well its 12:04 and ive had a few mouthfuls.... I love the punch of hops and how it lingers for a bit after each mouthful. (kinda like the label! lol) Carb was on spot, and since i havent had the actually pliny the elder before and cant compare, but this is excellent and enjoyable. My preference/tolerance for hops/IBU's isnt as high as the rest of the community, but like Rubbertoe said "dont fear the IBU's" cause its really enjoyable

And now its half gone.......got any more kicking around? lol ill have to brew this in the new year!
I've brewed: Oktoberfest, Belgian Tripple, Summer Ale (Keiths Clone), Home Brewed Ginger Ale, Rory's Red Irish Ale, Honey Brown, Russian Imperial Stout, Krölsch

Although I haven't had a Pliny before, I'm really looking forward to trying this one tonight. I also have a Pliny clone recipe that I was thinking of trying next - the grain bill is almost exactly the same as yours, but the hops are fairly different. If this tastes as good as I think it will, I may have to brew it right after this Saturday's grain split :)

That's a real treat Woody! Thanks very much. Thanks for the big bottle as well. There might be enough left for Kathleen to have a little try when she gets home. She likes the really bitter ones. Great Job!

Finished the glass rather quickly. It's very Moorish. I better leave her the other half bottle though ...and that's love!

Just finished brewing up my house red and now I get to sit down and try this piece of badassery! Lots of hops, enjoy the piney smell mixed with the citrusy. A little grassy flavor but not much, mixes well with the woodsey piney flavors. Malt back bone is big and handles the bitterness well. :rockin: Great job.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
