Re: Favourite SMASH Recipes
Mike and I brewed a Pilsner Extract and galena smash (SackVegas Smash). But neither of us can recall the hop schedule. I know it was 15lbs of LME, and I think the hop schedule was 1oz @ 60, 10, 5, 0.
Can't find it for the life of me, know it was txt'd out, and messaged a few times, and also stated at the meeting when we compared. Anyone else recall? I wouldn't mind brewing it again.

I'm also brewing a Orbitz / Pilsner Smash tomorrow /w Mike.
20lbs bohemian pilsner malt, Orbitz (5.7% aa), 2oz FWH, 15, 10, 5 and 0.
Nose isn't really strong on this so held off on dry hops.

Re: Favourite SMASH Recipes
Simcoe and Munich was a great one
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I did a very similar beer with simcoe and it was excellent. I also liked my pilsner/tettnanger pseudo lager (fermented cool with US-05). Pilsner malt up to 1.044, 30 ibu bittering addition at 60, and a handful at 5 min.EverwoodAveBrewShop wrote:This is my Citra one. Re: Favourite SMASH Recipes
I did a clone of Prairie's 'Merica a while back... pilsner malt and Nelson Sauvin. Fantastic beer. Of course, it also involves a Saison yeast, but still...

I can confirm this beer was awesome, I brewed it myself using the exact recipe but using 2-Row. It was good but this MO version is much better.EverwoodAveBrewShop wrote:This is my Citra one. Best beer I've ever brewed and I had lots of folks agree this is a fantastic beer:

I'm thinking of making a Vienna/Falconers Flight SMaSH tommorow. It's my last of each, so I'm calling it Last Flight to Vienna SMaSH. I'm gonna pile up the late additions
Nova Prime Taproom
Tap 1: Festa Brew Scotch Ale
Tap 2:
"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Re: Favourite SMASH Recipes
That should be a great beer. I've been brewing a vienna/galena smash for middle of the road beer drinkers and I really like the malt profile.
