1.00oz East Kent Goldlings @ 5 min
1.00oz Fuggles @ 5 min
1.00oz East Kent Goldlings @ 0 min
1.00oz Fuggles @ 0 min

Yeast: 1 pack of Safale S-04 (Rehydrated)
Fermentation Temp: 18*C

Dry hop with 2oz of East Kent Goldings for 5 days.

Going to bottle this today. Just tasted the hydrometer sample and realized that it's only 10AM. Oops?

Nice biscuity malt profile with a nice english hop character thanks to the late additions.

Name is a bastardization of this

Also, I used the "Light colored and hoppy" water profile from Brewer's Friend.

Somewhat similar to the bitter I have planned for malt bill (no Victory here). I'm going to blast mine with Bramling Cross, EKG, Challenger, and Willamette. I'm looking at the balanced II profile from BF

I like my bitter. I used MO, dark Munich, EKG, Styrian goldings and West Yorkshire ale yeast. Yours looks good also. Cheers.

That sounds like a really good hop selection. I meant for mine to be straightforward, easy and cheap. The working title was actually "Cheap & Easy ESB"
I chose a water profile with high SO4 to help accentuate the bitterness. The balanced profile might not do the same because of the lower chloride/sulfate ratio, but I'd be curious to know how it pans out.

I would've used MO if I didn't buy the superior pale in bulk!

I got impatient and cracked one open a few days early. It's got a really nice deep copper colour and it has a good balance between the bitterness, malt and hop flavours. I've read that it's probably not exactly to style with the amount of later hop additions, but I don't really care because I love hops.

I have exactly that same problem. I have to have a tonne of late hops. My favorite is a whack of hops at 2 1/2 minutes. It's my downfall almost every time. I'm constantly being told by judges to tone down the late hops. They say they could drink it all day but not to style, heard that a few times. I may learn ...eventually.

I've got another early one cooling in the snow now. Really enjoyable batch!

To be honest this is the first batch I've made that I really hit my numbers. Very happy with it, and now I've got a good handle on my new equipment for the future. Next brewday is this weekend.

They do know That's the annoying thing. They say it tastes good but not to style. You can't get fairer than that LOL.

Who needs to-style when you have a great beer? If you're not submitting for a stuffy competition, brew whatever the hell you want, right? Looking at that recipe, that beer would not last very long in my house.
