I'm having this one now, although the carbonation is low there is just enough. It's quite black but when you shine it to the light it has a brownish colour. The low carb hurts getting lots out of the aroma, but there are lots of citrus/tropical fruit character and bit of sweet/caramel type malt character. Lots of bold fresh hop flavour without that nasty metallicish dryhop astringency. The malt character is present but in the background. I find it difficult to get much rye character out of this one, but thats probably underneath the hops. There is a kind of film that comes around after a few drinks are had. I'm not sure if it is a hop resin thing or a grainy malt character. Very nice beer though, good way to start the exchange!

I had it last night. Yes, I meant to comment on it, but got distracted by all of the hops I'm buying and don't need on the group buy.

I liked it, I thought the carbonation was a bit low, but not overly so. The bitterness seemed a lot smoother than I would have figured for 101 IBUs. My original plan was to drink half and recap to finish later, maybe next time someone was over, but no, that didn't happen.

Yeah, the bitterness was just right, not too much, just enough to balance everything out.

This is lovely. The malt sweetness is in perfect balance with the hopping. Yeah, it could be carbed a little more but it's extremely drinkable the way it is.

Great beer Brian. I'm only a few sips in and really like this beer. Don't get much on the Rye, but that's probably just hidden by the big malt and hop build. I'd definitely take another!

I thought this was a really good beer. mine was carbed perfectly for my tastes, there was almost no head, but such is adult life.

Nice roastiness to it, great hop profile. There is a flavour in there I can't put my finger on, but it's not a bad thing, just unknown.

Thanks for starting this off the right way.

Just getting to try this now. Big, big beer. It felt heavy just pouring it into the glass! I almost had to nip it off like molasses. Completely different on the nose. A big bunch of tropical fruit lifts you up and nestles you in its bosom. Taste started off with a nice herby bitterness and soft chewy toffee malt to finish.

Thank you for the beer and for the experience!

Much enjoyed! Loved the in your face fresh hop aroma. Gave me a spring is near sensation of hope, with a slight reminder "it's still winter" roastiness warmth lol! I found it well balanced with decent body especially for the low mash temp. Thanks Brian! PS. Love the name!
