Happy to report that this dubbel is today's stormbeer. The aroma alone is enough to win me over. Rye spiciness goes well with the yeast and candy flavours. Seriously good beer.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. I don't know whether it was a Belgian yeast or not but the malt and sugar tempered it well if it was. My nose is still not up to snuff but definitely got a big whiff of malt. Cotton candy and toffee on the palate and though the alcohol was evident it wasn't overpoweringly hot or anything. Dubbel is another style I have not experienced much of but this is good beer whether it's to style or not.

Tasty brew. The alcohol is quite apparent in the taste. Nice malt profile though.

This is a big beer!

Big creamy head, Big caramel and toffee malt flavours, big rye spice and big warming alcohol. The body was perfect. the sugar kept good check of it and helped this big beer go down exceptionally smooth and making you want more. i found it very like Leffe Neuf, but a little darker in colour.

Exceptionally decadent!

Thank you!

Heh, that was a big beer, I didn't realize how big when I opened it (it should not have come after other beers). It didn't drink crazy big either, it snuck up on me. I liked the malty richness and the yeast flavours.

Great beer. I tried to guess what it was before reading what is was and I thought along the lines of a rye/weizen bock with all the malt flavours coming in with some bannana notes. But I think it fits even better as a dubbel. It finishes nice and dry with lots of great malt complexity. I got a few alcohol and plastic phenolic notes but they don't detract at all from the beer. Thanks, another great beer!
