Rogues Roost Brown Ale Clone [Hopeful Request]

Hi folks. First time poster here,
Since it seems like this community has a wonderful wealth of knowledge regarding local craft beer, I was wondering if a Brewnoser might be able to help me help a friend. Let me start at the beginning:
A year or two ago my friend and I began frequenting Rogue's Roost regularly. Their brown ale blew my friend's mind. Due to their rotating beer list he was only able to have it twice before they closed up shop a few weeks ago. Now my friend is pretty sad about this. If someone here knows of the scaled down recipe they used there/a clone of a super similar commercial brown ale, or even just a few suggestions of any commercial browns which follow a similar flavour profile (I believe I only had it once and can't recall it well) my friend and I would be very grateful.
Hopefully the experience of brewing a clone of his favourite beer will help inspire him to take the plunge into homebrewing and pay tribute to a great local brewpub.
Thanks and cheers!

The brown was fairly generic, as I recall. You may try brewing 4-8l of brown and tweaking it to suit.
Karen or Jake may be able to help with the hop additions.

I noticed that Rockbottom won an ACBA bronze on the weekend for their "Bulldog Brown". Rockbottom's current brewmaster, Jake, formerly worked as a brewer at Rogue's Roost, which is now closed. It's also a fact that there was no "Bulldog Brown" at Rockbottom previous to Jake's tenure.
I don't know if it's the same beer that your friend liked, but I do know that when I frequented Rogue's Roost in the early 2000s their brown ale was called "Bulldog Brown." It is entirely possible that Jake is making a version of the same beer at Rockbottom. Might be worth going down to Rockbottom and trying a pint to see. Having the target beer available would make it much easier to clone. Might also make it less likely that Jake would provide any information if the beer is still in production, but who knows?

Actually, Bulldog Brown pulled in a Gold at the ACBA's.

Dammit, I knew I should have checked that. But I didn't. Thanks for the correction!
