Silver solder

Post by B-boy » Mon Jan 04, 2016 12:46 pm

Does anyone know of an inexpensive source for silver solder locally? looking to install some npt fittings into a keggle and the cheapest I can find is brew hardware at over 40$ CDN after shipping https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/ ... lderlg.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Also will this Crappy tire torch suffice? http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/bernz ... oqKVTY7Lt4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . I have a a regular propane torch but from what I've read it won't get the fitting hot enough.

I had ordered some from amazon previously (not sure if you checked) for about 13 bucks 2 years back.

I soldered my ferrule into my keggle with a plain jane propane torch, so don't believe everything you hear.

I will drain that glass again.

What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

I got some from Rona that might work for you. Not sure of the silver content thought.

Currently on tap:
1) Festa Brown Ale
2) Festa Pale Ale
3) Best Case Northern Lights
4) Festa Continental Pilsner

In the bucket: Empty
In the carboy: Empty

Buy yourself a 24 and you'll be happy for a weekend. Teach yourself to homebrew and you'll be happy for a lifetime. :)

Thanks for the quick replies, I did look at this exact kit on Amazon but shipping is 28$ US. The Rona solder may work but I don't see the proper flux anywhere.
