I actually chopped Ivan down quite a bit and assembled a "base" with a plate chiller and pump.

This is the "final iteration of Ivan. I've brewed on it a few times now and love the setup

Do you use anything to filter hops on your kettle pickup? I'd love to have a whirlpool setup, but I use the Electric Brewery hop blocker and they discourage whirl pooling because it compacts hops on the hop blocker.

I just use a paint strainer bag as a hop filter. I whirlpool without regard for the bag and have never had an issue. I have the cheapo OBK pump and Plate Chiller and we did a India Red Ale a few weeks back with well over a pound of hops with no issues. Whirpooled for 20 minutes

This is the "updated finished product" for Ivan. I've got an el cheapo pump that connects directly to the bottom drain. I'm now using the 19 gallon kettle from Dave and the hotrod stick as a mash tun.

Everything in this system is now able to fit inside the kettle (aside from the hoist arm which will only be used for 10 gallon batches) making my wife VERY happy. Image

So the hoist didn't work out so well, thus the need for a Mash Tun for 10 Gallon Batches/Big 5 Gallon Batches...

As of yet unnamed
