Do it yourself wort chiller

Hi
Wondering if anyone bought the wort chiller kit available at Everwood? How did it go and was it worth the savings over the assembled version?

Assume you mean the immersion chiller kit? I didn't buy that but I bought the Brewers best fully assembled one and wished I had made it myself. the issue is kettle height. Making it yourself you can make it for the height of your kettle. Some of the pre assembled ones can be too short for some kettles especially if it is a small chiller and a big pot.

I got the same kit from obk turned out great I made it to fit my kettle here is how it turned out

I think buying the kit and doing it yourself is better if the standard diameter provided in the pre-built one doesn't match you kettle. My kettle is fairly wide so I wanted mine to be short so it would be submerged when I do single batches. Here's the thread for mine:
