Auber EZBoil vs. PID

Post by jason.loxton » Thu Oct 13, 2016 8:45 pm

Hey engineers! Someone want to explain why this is different than a PID and why I might want to go one way or the other? (Read Auber's text, but still uncertain on how these units actually opperate relative to a PID.)

I have the SYL-2352.

I see a few added features on the EZboil:

- the automatic reduction in power once boil is reached
- the timer feature that ends the boil after a set amount of time
- dial adjustment vs buttons

To me these would be nice to have but not necessary. I find I am always around my kettle during these events anyway. Watching for boil overs and for hop additions. If this was available when I built my system I probably would have chosen it over the SYL-2352.
