Control Panel Build

After nearly a year this build is finally coming to an end...

The indicator lights only seem to dim when there's no power going to the outlets, the electrical guy in our office said they might go out when I plug in the cord for the element. He had told me that the SSR's will leak a little bit of current through, enough to power a small LED.

On the right side of the box is a 120VAC outlet for future pumps.

Never done anything like this but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Next step is mounting the element, thermowell, and valve on the kettle.

Awesome. I didn't see this thread when posted, just found it when searching for what you needed the SSR for.

I have an illuminated switch for my element and it used to light up as a result of leaking current. I can't remember exactly not but I changed the wiring so it doesn't happen now.

Those Berme PIDs... I got a couple recently... are yours actually able to control an SSR without modification? I don't think mine will but I think mine are knock offs of the knock off (Berme is a knock off of REX I think). Mine also don't have a decimal place and only work with K type thermocouples.

What kind of temp probes are you using?

Yeah, the one on the right does about 12VDC out to the SSR...

I didn't do enough research initially at the start and I had seen where those cheap and cheery PID's have either the relay or SSR output...by a fluke I had purchased one that runs the SSR (on the right).

The one on the left does work with the RTD probe - turns out I'm terrible at soldering but I am able to use the RTD with the XLR connector.
