I got some (40 amp) from China on ebay. Not the highest quality but cheap, and take a while to get here. I don't have a link on hand ATM, sorry.

Not sure what you can find locally. Don't forget a heat sink.

PS - I'm deleting your other thread, this is the right place for it and you won't get more replies with a double post.

DC controlled? I think mine is the Chinese SSR-40DA.

It's worth noting that I had one fail in the closed / on position before. Something else caused the failure, but still was a pain in the ass. I now hold onto an extra just in case. They are only a few bucks. There are better brands but will cost more, such as Omega.

Ok, thanks Rob, I have the heat sink already.

Yes, DC controlled.

I did a trial run and there was the smell of burning plastic and a little puff of smoke...let's just say I purchased an item that was not up to the job. Thankfully everything was fused so other than the switch and a couple fuses everything else was intact.

I was running one of those Fotek SSR's that was 'rated' for 40A - it failed closed so there was power going to the element all the time.

I've reached out to Kal at the Electric Brewery to see what he can supply...Jentronics quoted me $55+ for a 50A SSR.

I would get larger than 25A though.

Also that just looks like a rebrand of the Chinese unit. I gotta stop hitting submit so fast.

Good to know, thanks Mark.

I did pull the trigger and bought a couple 40A Auber relays.
