New kegerator build

Post by Mvaughan39009 » Sun Nov 26, 2017 6:34 pm

Hi everyone. Looking for some help here. I just bought a draft tower and tap. Hose came with it wasn’t labeled and one end pulled right off the barbed end of my tap. I went and got some 1/4 ID 3/8 OD. It went snug on the corny keg outlet but seems loose on the tap end. And it is leaking a bit. Should I be using 3/16 ID 7/16 OD that was on my picnic tap? Would that be a better fit? Also. Is there something better that mechanical clamps? The initial hose came with some pex type fittings but I can only source those is 1/2inch which are too big. I will upload some pics

Where did you get your new 1/4 ID 3/8 OD line? Is it thick wall beer line?

I'm 90% sure MB&W carry it.

Not necessarily, I'm just wondering if it was sold as beer line vs generic tubing.

I've has the exact same issue, using the thick walled beer line. It stays so snug on the connector barbs that it has to be cut off when it line gets changed, but I have to make sure the hose clamp is really good and tight on the tap end, otherwise I'm just asking for a leak. I'd have to check for sure...it's been a while since I've bought beer line, but I am pretty sure I am using the 3/16 ID 7/16 OD.
