I think its awesome. I love brewing outside, but I know in a month I will be wishing I had your setup.

I've been on the hunt for one of these since seeing the pictures, but no to avail (except from the online retailers for $150+). If anyone sees one, please let me know (or just buy it). I'm willing to pay $100, and you can keep the difference between that and the actual cost, a finder's fee. Or something along those lines.

Chalmers, I saw one of these at our local WM a while ago. I'll have a look this week.

I can check in NG. Are they in the BBQ section?

I've been looking but no luck. You would think there would be lots around seeing as it's turkey season.

None in NG. Only square Butterball units. They did have a couple Acorns like mgc has if anyone needs a smoker.

Is this thing still going strong?
Nova Prime Taproom
Tap 1: Festa Brew Scotch Ale
Tap 2:
"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

I apologize for not responding sooner but I just saw this. I actually moved past the turkey fryers because I just couldn't get the temp control I wanted out of it. I built a new all electric system in one vessel. Kinda like brew in a bag but it's a pot with holes. This allowes me to recirculate the wort pretty easily. I built a brew controller that gives me a lot more control.

A pot with holes eh? Did you drill holes yourself? If so, what size and how many? (Please count them, I need to know exactly how many)

I am not counting them but you are welcome to count them. They are 1/8 inch holes and they are on a 1cm grid.

Here are my holy pot pics. I installed stainless steel bolts in the bottom as legs to hold the pot up off of the element.

The big pot is 64 liter and the smaller one is 32 liter. I have a crank system with cable and chains to slowly pull up the mash basket. I typically try a d do a full volume mash but sometimes I sparge with a little hot tap water just to top up the pot to the right volume.

I built that arm and crank out of parts left over at the farm but a boat wench would work great. I thought about an electric wench too. You can buy them at Canadian tire sometimes pretty cheap.

Nice. I don't have the panel room for the power, but my dryer plug could do doubel duty.

That's how I'm planning to set mine up. Going to swap out my 30amp standard breaker for a 30amp GFCI breaker.

Yeah my system is right next to the washer dryer. Makes it easy but on brew day my wife can't do laundry. Small price to pay.

It's always nice to give her a few hours to focus on other areas of the house. Haha
