At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

I wrote measurements on mine with that intention, but they're wearing offBarr wrote:Looks great. I been thinking of doing one too. I want to be carve measurements lines on it so I can watch my volumes.

Re: Mash Paddle
Don’t mind me, I was “only joking”. I shouldn’t covet my neighbours mash paddle any way.
What kind of wood is that by the way? It looks like maybe ash or maple, or something really nice.
Enjoy brewing with it and don’t give it another thought. I’ll be OK. I got a new $6 solid plastic mash paddle in the mail today.

Re: Mash Paddle
I made it out of a 1" x 4" x 48" piece of maple from Central. I drew the outline, cut it with a jigsaw, and sanded all edges with an orbital sander

Re: Mash Paddle
Looks great. I made mine X number of years ago out of round stock from Kents, drilled out holes and used pegs to hold it together. Only one side exists right now.
Think this time I'll do one similar to yours.

Re: Mash Paddle
thanks again,
I forgot to mention that the circles were cut with a hole saw. Much easier than a jigsaw for that
