HELP - Epic DIY Boo Boo
Does anyone know a TIG welder that could patch a hold in my new 15 gallon brew kettle? Seems the hole punch I used wasn't quite as advertised any help from my brew brothers would be appreciated.

I'm assuming the punch was too big? What do you need to weld? HpHunter has a good setup, and might be able to help.

It was a 1-1/4" conduit punch so i think it was accounting for the size of the conduit plus wall size so the hole ended up 1-3/4". Is this for an element? Another option would be to throw in a bushing an weld it on the outside, then thread in your element. Welding on the inside could be tricky if it's down low in the pot.

What you need is a reducing bushing, from something that fits nicely into the hole you made, down to 1". let me look around. Is 1.75" the exact size of the hols you punched?

I got your message, I was just busy with concrete work (Brewery upgrades) started at 8:30am and finished up at 2:30am this morning. As Rob stated a bushing would be better. I can certainly try to weld a patch in. Worst case scenario is it ain't as pretty as could be. I don't know when I will be in the city next and I'm not sure on when your timeline is. I have a job to do for Sandy and a lot of my own work to do and can certainly do it for you.

I have a 1.5" x 1" bushing. The threads on the 1.5" might be a bit bigger than 1.75" though, but not much.

Got the hole all patched up. Soldered it with Silver solder, passed all the leak tests
