Just bring in an idea, and a faucet, and spend an hour messing around.

I was thinking those red water hose shut offs, or ball valve handles as tap handles. I wanted to incorperate something from homebrewing.

Or use a set of spike anklers that I have here already.

I wanted to paint the rails and the tower black.

Thoughts on that idea?

I was thinking that the black would match the hardware on the box. Give an old keg feel

I really like it as it is as well. Suggestions, leave it as is (can always paint later) clear Lacquer, or oil blacken (see pic) it maybe.

That's sorta what I was going for. Paint it to look like black iron piping.

I used to do oil blackening when I did wrought iron work. Wipe it with engine oil, torch it, repeat, and keep doing that. It isn't dirty to handle. Try it on scrap first to see if you like it,

I don't have kegs or co2 yet. So I have time before I pull the trigger.

I've decided to leave the rails and tap tower natural.
So it's all tightened and secured down.

made some tap handles and a frame for the drip trays to sit in (needs to be painted).

and i will paint the beer name tags with chaulkboard paint...so I can ID the beer on tap

Lol, crazy. I am going to do something similar, but just use swagelok ball valves.

I was wondering if you painted the rails with Tremclad silver paint, if they would then match the tap tower assembly, and look less modern. It looks really good.

- How the tap handles are threaded in.
- Do you have a fan running cold air up the pipes to keep your lines cold?

The shanks are tightened with their standard lock nuts through the pipe bushing.

Im going to wait to add a fan...plan was to run a copper pipe inside the tower (each side), and using pipe insulation to cover it up...if I need a fan, that's easy to add

slide the flange, faucet/shank through the reducer (1 1/4" to 1"), and tighten the suppied shank nut to the reducer...spin the coupler on to the reducer, and then spin the nipple on...then you can spin the entire thing to a T, or elbow, or whatever else you designed


Tap handles were easy...kent parking lot 8am lol.

3/8" threaded pipe, 3/8" T, and (2) 3/8" plugs...then I got a 3/8" plain insert nut (like the pictures, but round, and without the prongs).
ran a bead of heavy duty crazy glue inside the pipe, set the nut inside and gave it a few min to set-up...then ran a few layers of crazy glue along where the pipe and flang meet...gave it a while to set up...I tried to break it apart...it's not coming apart lol

everything is set up now...leak checked and everything is tight and dry.

Irish red ale and apa get transfered tomorrow....will post pics of the first pours when we are all carb'd up
