Hop Oast Build

Here are some pics of the build of my Hop Drying Oast
Materials:
4 1x4x8 (hop boxes)
1 1x2x8 (lid)
1 1x8x8 (base for fan)
some scrap decking I had laying around
1 Box fan off kijiji
screen from Kent, in the pic I used a 48" x 48" peice, I still need more for the lid
The outside dimensions of the boxes are 24" to make it easy to fit the screen, so each board is cut to 23 1/4"

Very nice. Looks similar to the one I built. I found that I had to place the racks on some carpenter benches with a smaller fan on the floor below so as to not agitate the hops so much. I was blowing the lupulin right out of them.

Nothing dried yet, picking tonight or tomorrow.
As to the fan that could be an issue as this one is one speed, hopefully it's OK but I'll have to try it and see

Great job man, should work awesome! If you find the fan is too strong blowing, try turning it around and sucking the air down through. That's the way I have mine set up (except my fan is on top) and it works great.
Is that decking pressure treated in the first picture? I know it is just for the fan to sit on but if it is PT, I would consider replacing it with something that is non treated. Probably me just being paranoid...

It's not blowing as hard as I had thought it would, so going to leave as is for a bit, working pretty nicely right now
