I find the hardest part about building a stir plate is finding a decent enclosure. I must keep VV in mind.

Old radio I think, hoestly i dont remember were eric found them..we scavenged them from a few places...none of them work well...basically off and full blast. But they do the trickmckay75 wrote:where did you source the rheostat?

I use a plug-in dimmer switch with a muffin fan and have the issue. Recently switched to the monstrous stir bar that Dave sells and now it works great. Sometimes I have to crank it up all the way to get it going but then I can turn down to the correct speed.
