Double Coil Wort Chiller

Decided to build a double coil wort chiller today. Used 50ft of 1/2" copper coil and bended it around a 6in foam roller for the inside coil and then a 10in bucket for the outer coil. Also used a copper bending spring from a pack I got at Home Depot.

Hoping this cuts down my chilling time! Before this I had a single coil, 25 ft 3/8" copper coil wort chiller.

Total Cost: $60 for Copper, $10 for bending springs, $5 for clamps, $10-15 for tubing, and $5 for sink connector ($90-95 for all)

Nicely done. Very neat and tidy looking. What did you use for wire to tie it together?

I'm interested to hear how this works out for you. I'm using a simple 25-ft copper tube. It does the job but I know I can do better.

I used copper wiring to tie it together. I plan to brew this week and will post on here how it turned out. And yeah its a bit of a beast!

Nice, I did a 50 ft 3/8 chiller around a smaller carboy, interested to hear how the dual coil changes your time. Personally I found I could keep my faucet turned to super low flow and chill fast but I'm also only doing 5gallon batches. Looks sharp and hope it works well.

Did a brew today and was able to chill wort in just over 7min which is a big improvement on the 20-20min I was used to before. Very happy with the results!
