How did you finish those flights? I really like the rustic look. Mind sharing your sanding protocol and stain?

I just hand sanded it to soften the edges and smooth it out. The stain was a walnut gel based stain (apparently poplar doesn't do well with oil based stains) that came in a tube from Canadian Tire. I did a coat with that and then a semi gloss varathane to finish.

The design is from a recent BYO magazine but I tinkered with it a bit. Their design was for a wooden dowel to run under the glasses but I figured that would be wobbly so I doubled up.
