Are the elements on the site stainless steel elements, or just stainless steel bushings, i have had problems with the Camco elements over the years and i had ordered a stainless steel element last year from an american site and i find it much easier to clean and have never had a scorching issue.

I"m looking to replace the 2000W element on my heatstick with a 4500 or 5500 W element but i was hoping to get a full stainless element.

The element itself is not stainless, just the threads and bushing.

BREWHA currently has fully stainless elements. They bill in USD but are located and ship from Canada.

It's a balance. The Camco elements are high quality and have a good company history. The only all stainless elements I've found don't have the reputation.. So I took the quality side over the all SS side. I've still got my eye on those, but I have to find the right supplier. Unfortunately you can't please all of the people all of the time!

Dave probably a dumb question but what part of the Camco elements aren't stainless? Your website says that the base and the sheath are both stainless.

I believe Camco ULWD elements all have the same coating, it is a Nickel-chromium-molybdenum version of stainless steel with a nickel bushing coated in 304 stainless steel.

According to the Camco technical information on their site they use this blend due to its high resistance to dry firing vs ss304, however, i have had issues in the past with this coating and even after prolonged soaking in super strength PBW have not been able to clean the build up off properly. Most people have never had this issue with their Camco elements, and i'm not sure why i have but i have replaced three elements.

I use those kind of elements and have some build up that won't come off but only in a small area.
