I don't think so, just show up. But I'll email Jeremy to see what he suggests.

This could be cool. Its too far off for me to commit at this moment. Especially since I will be in Halifax the prior weekend for the BJCP exam. Still, I'll try to make it.

It's free, no tickets, etc. I highly doubt they're filling growlers there since bar's can't currently do that (ie: Rockbottom growler fridge outside the bar type shit).

I really enjoyed the stout, but wasn't a huge fan of the pale ale.
It was a good time though, and some great food provided by the Wooden Monkey.

One piddly-assed review. And no pics? For shame.....

I think Chris took a pic or two. Stout was good, pale ale was pretty low in hop everything I found, but still quite pleasant - no off flavours at all, just too low in on-flavours. Haha. Maybe a good beer to launch in the CB market, I'm not sure.

Re: Big Spruce Brewing's launch April 20th @ Wooden Monkey D
I really liked the stout as well. I'm glad I went for another sample of the pale ale as the first one had almost no hop flavour while the one I had before heading out did. It wasn't an exceptional version of the style but that second pour was definitely not bad. From talking with Jeremy the pale ale will be getting some more tweaks in the hop department down the line. He seemed really interested in hearing our feedback on the beers.

Re: Big Spruce Brewing's launch April 20th @ Wooden Monkey D
I had the same opinion as the other guys pretty much. The Pale Ale will have some mass appeal. Though, if they're considering it an American Pale Ale, I would argue it's closer to a Blonde. Mostly due to the lack of hop character. The stout was also nothing out of this world, but certainly more flavourful than the pale. It was almost a hybrid between a dry stout and an oatmeal stout I found. Very drinkable. If it wasn't for the $8 a pint and the fact that I had to drive, I would have easily drank a bunch of the stout. I think they'll do quite well.

What are you trying to say about the CB market?CorneliusAlphonse wrote:I think Chris took a pic or two.
