I'm in. Couldn't convince the other half to come so flying solo.

The quality of the Beer and food at last year's event put the Beerfest to shame!! I am sure this year will be no exception. The menu and beer line sounds great. I am looking forward to attending and have been talking up the event to many of my beer loving friends so I will have at least one other attending with me so put me down for four sausages. I will check the appetizer selection that are listed and bring something. I have an Irish Red Festa Brew that I dry hopped with Tettnanger that I will bring. I can also bring my dual regular and CO2 if you still need some.

EZMAC will be in attendance, though if there's lamb in the sausage, it'll just be me eating them.

Re: CO2, so that we don't have twenty 20lb CO2 tanks for 25 kegs, let's keep the numbers down. PM me and I'll update this post (or post here and I will grab the number and erase your post to keep it tidy).

X: 5lb with 1 ball and 1 pin connection
Chalmers: 20lb with 6 ball-lock connections
Cobalt: 15lb with 5 pin locks

Your name here:

People bringing kegs, please bring your own thumb tap/tower/handpump, or post up here if you want to hook up into someone's tower (or have room for someone else on your tower).

ill be there
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I'll be there with a buddy, so two for food.

I think the sauerkraut went south so I'll probably bring a carton or two of Tancook. Also a jar of cowboy candy and another little surprise.

I'll have a keg, Harvest ESB or the IPA I just did today. I'm double pitching S-05 into one carboy so if it's done by next Mon or Tues I'll crash and keg it. If there's an available ball lock connection that would rock.

Is this in the works? I've been researching mustard recipes, and I'm thinking of doing a pilot batch this week in prep for the event. I'm thinking dry-hopped...

I've been to the mustard as well. I have two kinds of beer mustard that I made 1 week ago. One with Munich Dunkel, another with TubberRoe Robust Porter, different recipes on the mustard side. First day they were both super harsh still; I guess it takes a couple weeks to mellow out. I might take a portion of one of them and blend in some more dunkel as a test. I'll be tasting them later.

I think you should go for it. How would you do it, infuse the vinegar with hops before making it?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but maybe heating the vinegar up a bit to help with flavor extraction, or let it sit overnight. Also I wonder how the high acidic environment will affect the hops. I'm going to try a small batch to see how it works.

Awesome, yeah I'd let it steep a bit.

I feel like a politician. I'm back in. Tentatively. I am heading down to Antigonish the following morning instead of spending the weekend up there.

Speaking of which: is anyone headed to Antigonish on the Sunday morning? I need to be there for a late lunch.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.
