This might be a dumb question, but I looked through the thread and couldn't find the answer, and I can't remember from last year :?

What time does this get underway?

I'm going to drop off my beer Engine in advance. With coke or Pepsi fittings - so anyone can display their beer that way.

Also works without CO2. Might be an advantage later on. ;-)

I've got to keg my brew this evening and see if it meets Hoptoberfest standards :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I didn’t know it started at 3.00. I thought it was an evening thing. We might be able to come for an hour or two in the afternoon as I think we have to drop our friends off at the airport. I really wanted to come. If I can make it, I’ll bring a 5 gal (disposable) polypin of real ale I made for the event and leave it there.

I kegged up what I hoped to bring and luckily it tastes like Coors mixed with nail polisher remover with a nice hit of citra. Might have to find an alternative, or just bring some brownies ...

I'll be there promptly at 3 with EZ, and maybe 2 more in tow then or shortly thereafter. EZ won't be eating sausages with us (another party to visit ), the others probably will be (so please adjust my number from 2 up to 3).

I saw that too on Big Spruce's facebook page. Their Black IPA is 124 IBU's & will be making it's debut at Hoptoberfest. Sweet!!!

Just keep in mind that this is a private event, so no publicizing of the address. And if you haven't been a member before now, you're out of luck. There is a limit on space I have to control.

Yeah - I thought that that might be slightly problematic. Maybe we need to do a test for entry. Name the three rules of the brewnosers or something.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

I've got a system. If I don't know you, and you haven't contacted me before last week, you'll have to make due at the H&T or RB.

I'm coming solo and have not and would not share your address with others. I was surprised to see this on Big Spruces facebook page. Pretty cool but can understand your concern. :cheers2:

Sounds like you have a system worked out. I'll bring a copy of my email, date I signed up as a Brewnoser, DOB and SIN. Kidding. :pow:

What if you don't recognize them but they show up with a full keg?

Ugh. I've been sick since the weekend. Thought I was getting better but apparently not. Think good thought for me. I really don't want to miss this.

Beer and Hop Sausages are being made for Saturday: gluten-free, local pork, Double-Hoppelganger and a concoction of secret Italian sausage-style spices. Two versions; one hot and one not-quite-so-hot  Buns are being baked around 6 a.m. Saturday morning :cheers2:
