Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
I agree Kyle!! I only remember Rubber Toes IPA and hop randal. Damn tasty along with other great beer. So a hop bomb for Hoptoberfest it is! I figured the delicate flower pedals would complain they couldn't taste anything else after them so I always tone it down for Hoptoberfest. ha ha I'll be making an IPA in the next week or so that should put a smile on a few faces and numb a few others taste buds. ha ha . Won't be my full on hop assault but a balanced IPA.

Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
Do we want to look into getting some hop sausages made for us that we can sell at the event for a reasonable price with any profits going to the club? I know that this has been done in the past and I would be happy to take charge. Does anyone know where we ordered the sausages and buns from?
Enjoying: Black Sheep (Dark Farmhouse with Brett)
Fermenting: NZ Pale Ale, Orval Clone, Berliner Weisse, Brett APA
Planning: Old Rasputin Clone

Cavecchi's Meats and the Gingerbread Haus. Nash helped set up the orders (and provided the spices and hops for the sausages), so we'd do well to ask him for assistance. I did the running around last year, which I probably won't be able to do this year, with my screwy work schedule. A vehicle would be almost certainly necessary for those tasks.Brewdozer wrote:Do we want to look into getting some hop sausages made for us that we can sell at the event for a reasonable price with any profits going to the club? Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
Thanks chalmers. I have a feeling that Nash will be very busy for the next few months but hopefully he can help us out a little bit. My girlfriend will be on a rotation in Halifax for most of September and October so I will have access to her car.chalmers wrote:Cavecchi's Meats and the Gingerbread Haus. Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
Can we decide on a date soon so that we can get on with other commitments? October 3 seems to accommodate the most people so far. How about some discussion at the meeting tonight, then a bit more time to vote, then lock it down?

Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
Alright, the poll is leaning slightly towards October 3rd but there are more comments in the thread pulling for the 26th, which is probably a stronger indicator of planned attendance. I move that we set September 26th as the date of Hoptoberfest 2015, as the poll results are close anyways. If you are strongly against this date and strongly for the 3rd, now is the time to speak up. Otherwise, I say we roll with the 26th.
The spreadsheet where you can sign up the beers, food, and equipment that you are bringing is still pretty quiet, let's get it filled up!

Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
It looks like September 26th is our date (the poll results have now shifted in favour of the 26th) so this is the next big question. Keith volunteered already, any other volunteers?Woody wrote:Who's hosting?

Now that we have a date and I've been nominated I can commit to hosting if we want a central location.

Don't think I can be there on the 26th unfortunately (my dad's 65th birthday). Have fun folks!

I was looking forward to it, but I can't make it on the 26th either. I'm sure it will be a great time.

Looks like the 26th is leading by a vote or two. But not sure it's locked in.

Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
The poll and thread were mostly quiet for the last few weeks so as instigator Lucas moved that we accept September 26 as the date. Seeing that it's a month away and we still have a lot to do I support this as locked in (although the following Saturday could be kept as a rain/hurricane date). More poll responses started coming in after the thread was revived but we can't afford to wait indefinitely.

Re: Hoptoberfest 2015
I agree that we need to lock something in, especially considering that some attendees will have to make travel plans, and some of us need to plan brews for the coming weekends.
